busted!

i thought i'd better let people know that i'm back!
i had the most wonderful time in the united states of america and i made lots and lots of photos which i will be submitting to dA and my blog soon :D

also, i got busted! just hours ago :D i was going home after drinking&chatting with a friend of mine in the city and the front light of my bike has been kaput for quite sometime now, but today i finaly got busted! 35 euro fine! i almost talked myself out of it but alas they could not be fooled and dutch cops dont take bribes either (i still have an american dollar in my wallet XD ) i'm not to upset by it though since i have to pay a 268 euro phone bill, whats another 35 euros on that eh? ;P

the worst i had was, "you should really get a light put on your bike if you're on the streets"

things are different in the netherlands yeah :(
its because there are more bikes on the road though, i think its a valid point that cars can't see you very well at night if you dont have lights. i was kinda stupid though because i knew they were always checking for bike lights in that alley so i could have biked around it =P

I'm really sorry about the fine but I have to admit that the Dutch police are rather awesome. I met quite a few on my class trip to Amsterdam last year and they were just downright hilarious. But maybe that was because we couldn't catch a single word of what the other was saying. Well, they understood my German - I just didn't get their Dutch. The cheese was good though :orange: (dA is lacking in cheese emoticons - shame.)
